Botanic boards for Westonbirt Arboretum
We absolutely loved working on this brief to create a series of interpretive boards for Westonbirt Arboretum. The panels needed to work extremely hard and should explain what a botanic collection is, outline the role of botanic gardens, explain the modern-day challenges facing them and encourage people to visit the Forestry Commission’s collections. We opted for a bright and colourful illustrative route to help open this information up to a broader audience. The panels needed to work within an number of other different arboretums, which meant we could have fun with the overall aesthetic. All the illustrations were created in-house. Our friends at Westonbirt were happy to challenge visitors’ expectations, which meant this quickly developed into a fun brief and definitely one of the jobs we’ve been happiest to work on in recent months.
